Reconditioning

Reconditioning is of paramount importance to Janus Vaten. As a company in the industrial packaging sector, we want to use the available raw materials as sparingly as possible. Reconditioning plays a big role in that. The reuse of packaging is essential for using raw materials as sparingly as possible.

The importance of reconditioning

Reconditioning is an indispensable step for reducing our environmental footprint. Reusing just one drum instead of producing a new one conserves approximately 30kg in terms of CO2 emissions. That is the equivalent of driving 250 kilometres in a passenger car. We conserve about 25.9 million kg of CO2 per year.

The total concept

As already mentioned, Janus Vaten works according to a total concept. We are striving to reduce our environmental footprint. We do this by means of our unique total concept. Reconditioning is one of the 3 pillars around which the total concept revolves. The total concept consists of production, reconditioning and recycling.

The lifecycle naturally begins with production. The Janus Vaten team is involved in the design, testing, optimisation and production of the industrial packaging. We use proven techniques and special machines to produce high-quality reconditioned drums. Finally, at the end of the lifecycle, both the steel and plastic drums are recycled.

Sustainability

As a company in the industrial packaging sector, we are always concerned with sustainability. We keep conceiving ways to limit our environmental footprint. In addition to our total concept, we are also trying to reduce our energy consumption. To reduce our carbon footprint even further, we use solar panels to supply green electricity for our production processes. Find out what else we are doing in terms of sustainability.
